San Francisco

Ok…so the last vacation post left you in Big Sur. Our next stop was San Francisco!!!

1. It was a strange city

2. I loved it, not sure if I would go back.

3. I could NEVER live there

Here are a few pictures from our adventures.

We arrived to San Fran late and went straight to our hotel! There is a funny story about this place. We used priceline to find most of our hotels during the trip. We requested a 4 star hotel, and they randomly gave us this one. The review online stated “The Sir Francis Drake is ‘Fancy Schmancy” 🙂

Of course the first place we went on our first day in San Fran was the Golden Gate Bridge… (which isn’t gold) It was extremely foggy!!

We got to see Alcatraz from a distance! We tried to get tickets to tour it…and they were sold out DAYS in advance!

Do you recognize this?? “Everywhere you look….everywhere, there’s a heart”

The yellow house is the Full House-House!! 🙂

This is Lombard Street. It is the curviest road in America!!

This is a view of San Francisco from the pier! It is so pretty at night!!

P.S. We did all this in one day! 🙂

Big Sur

On our way to San Francisco we drove up HWY 1 and stopped in Big Sur! It was BEAUTIFUL! You can just see for yourself…..

The water is perfect…

See that bridge? It is used in LOTS of car commercials!

We ate at this cute cafe when we were driving through the mountains. There was only 3 places to eat for like a 100 miles! It would have been a perfect “supper club” place!

Ok…back to talking about my FABULOUS vacation!

The second place we went was to LA. It was probably my least favorite place…but I still had fun!

We went to the Hollywood walk of fame. It was HUGE…miles and miles long!!

This was in front of the Chinese Theatre.

We went to Rodeo drive and walked PAST all the shops. I am pretty sure they wouldn’t even let me in….thats how fancy they were.

We went to Malibu and layed out at Zuma Beach!

We visited Pepperdine University in Malibu. It was so pretty…and EXPENSIVE. Guess how much it costs to go there 1 year?

This is the view from the dorms at Pepperdine!

And of course…you can’t go to LA without finding the Hollywood sign! This is the closest LEGAL point to the Hollywood sign! We drove to the entrance to the road that takes you up to the sign….but you can’t cross the fence without getting shot :/

This weekend was FILLED with weddings! I got to take pictures at a wedding….I got to go to my dear friend Nathan’s wedding! It was a good weekend.

Here are just a couple of pictures from the wedding I got to be a second shooter at.

I stood on the balcony while Ashlee (the main photographer) sat on the second row!

Things I learned from being a second shooter:

1. I don’t like weddings in chapels (the lighting is TERRRRIBLE)

2. I NEED an external flash!!

3. Wait long enough…there is ALWAYS cake left and the end of the reception!

San Diego

The first place we went on our trip was San Diego!!
The first day in San Diego was spent at Sea World! It was so much fun. The weather was perfect and they shows were a lot of fun!
We went to a dolphin show, the Shamu show (thats Shamu above!!) and a Cirque de sole show that was in the ocean!
The second day we went to the San Diego Zoo. Brian has talked about this Zoo since I first met him. I thought “What could be so exciting about a Zoo?” But actually….it was exciting! There are tons of different animals and the exhibits were really huge!
This is Lola. Her trainers let her out of her cage to do a little flying….but she got too excited and started flying all over the place. We stood in the street and watched her for about 30 minutes while her trainer tried to get her to come back.
Next to the zoo is Balboa Park! We went there and walked around and saw all the old buildings and trails.
In Balboa Park there is the biggest outdoor organ in the U.S…..or maybe even the world? Anyways you can barely see in this picture but a guy was playing it!
One evening we went and walked on the beach while watching the sunset. It was actually really cold!
We had a ton of fun in San Diego! It may have been my second favorite place on our trip! 🙂
